We partner with local rescues and shelters, sponsor adoption events, offer a transport service for companions of pet parents with mobility challenges, support local artists, donate to rescues and wildlife conservation organizations, and provide care to those in need.
Our team didn’t choose veterinary medicine as a career- it chose us. Every day we care for pets with pride because we believe animals make the world a better place, and we’re grateful to play a small part in the joy your pets provide.
We provide comprehensive veterinary care for dogs and cats, including preventative care, general medicine, general and specialty surgery, dentistry, pain management, behavioral medicine, and nutrition counseling. Our board-certified surgeon, Dr. Paster, leads our specialty surgical services, offering orthopedic, soft tissue, and oncology procedures. We also provide specialized services like behavioral training with our on-site trainer, hip and elbow screenings, and urgent care for time-sensitive needs. As a family-owned practice, we focus on delivering personalized, ethical veterinary care without corporate pressures.
Your pet’s vaccination schedule depends on their age, lifestyle, and risk factors.
For puppies and kittens, we begin the initial vaccination series at 6-8 weeks of age, with booster shots administered every 3-4 weeks until your pet reaches 16 weeks old. Core vaccines include rabies, DHPP (distemper, hepatitis, parvovirus, parainfluenza) for dogs, and FVRCP (feline viral rhinotracheitis, calicivirus, panleukopenia) for cats.
For adult pets, we recommend annual boosters for most vaccines to maintain immunity. Rabies vaccination is typically administered every 1-3 years depending on local laws and vaccine type. We also offer non-core vaccines such as Lyme disease, rattlesnake vaccine and kennel cough based on your pet’s lifestyle and exposure risk factors.
For senior pets (typically 7+ years for dogs, 10+ years for cats), vaccination schedules may be adjusted based on your pet’s overall health status and immune system function. Our team evaluates each senior pet individually to determine the most appropriate vaccination protocol. While core vaccines like rabies remain legally required, we may modify the frequency of other vaccines based on your pet’s lifestyle, health conditions, and risk factors.
Puppies and kittens need more frequent visits during their first year for vaccinations and developmental monitoring. Regular wellness exams help detect health issues early and ensure your pet stays current on preventative care, allowing our team to address concerns before they become serious problems.
Most healthy adult pets should have wellness exams annually for pets under 7 years old, while senior pets (7+ years) or those with chronic conditions benefit from semi-annual exams every 6 months to monitor their changing health needs.
