In addition to our on-site Stonebridge Veterinary Wellness team, and board-certified surgeon, we also consult with a wide range of other veterinary specialists in order to provide your pet with the best veterinary care when your pet needs it most.
Did you know? Emergency veterinary care can be expensive. The urgent care visits at Stonebridge Veterinary Wellness are much more cost-effective and save you money. In addition, if your pets are already existing patients, we already know your pet’s medical history, so we can hit the ground running to diagnose and treat your pet’s urgent care needs. And, since you are already part of the Stonebridge family, we are familiar with you and your pet’s unique needs. This means your pet will be more comfortable and less stressed when they visit us for a more urgent health problem, as well as a non-urgent one. When your pet has an urgent care need, see us first during our office hours. We are open on Saturdays when most practices are closed, facilitating your pet’s care and your peace of mind.
Urgent care is needed for conditions like wounds, vomiting, diarrhea, allergic reactions, difficulty urinating, seizures, painful conditions or mild breathing difficulties, which are not immediately life-threatening, but require veterinary care right away. At Stonebridge Veterinary Wellness, we will provide urgent care for your pet, and can also help to stabilize your pet’s condition if you are closer to us and your pet’s urgency can’t make a longer drive to the ER. In this case, we would work to stabilize your pet such that if they require emergency care, they can then be transferred to an ER hospital. If your pet has severe trauma, difficulty breathing, long-lasting or very frequent seizures, or uncontrolled bleeding, seek emergency care. For urgent care visits, Stonebridge Veterinary Wellness accepts walk-ins as well as appointments or same- day drop- off appointments but calling ahead can help reduce wait times and help us to prepare for your pet’s arrival.
Bring your pet’s medical history, current medications, vaccination records, and any notes about recent symptoms. If your pet has medical records at another clinic, contact that clinic and have your pet’s records emailed to us immediately, at info@stonebridgevetwellness.com. Once your pet arrives, our team at Stonebridge Veterinary Wellness will triage your pet to determine the urgency of your pet’s need so we can get started with their care.
Costs vary based on the severity of the condition but are generally lower than emergency care. At Stonebridge Veterinary Wellness, our team will do our best to give you estimates as we assess your pet’s condition, and give recommendations for diagnostics and treatment. Many times, we need to do further diagnostics after an exam to diagnose your pet’s condition, so we won’t know the overall cost until we gather more diagnostic information. However, we will keep you informed every step of the way so you are aware of the diagnostic and treatment plans, and associated costs.
At Stonebridge Veterinary Wellness, our team will provide instructions for follow-up care and may recommend a recheck appointment. If your pet came to us with an urgent condition that we were able to stabilize in the short-term, but your pet requires further urgent or emergency care, we will recommend transfer to an emergency or 24-hour veterinary care facility.
